It’s been exactly 11 years since the release of our last album, Magic of Macabre, and 4 years since the Omega EP. In that time, a lot has changed in our lives.
The band Möbius was formed over 16 years ago in Žilina. From the very beginning, we were accompanied by concerts, powerful encounters, and intense musical connections. However, it wasn’t always a straight path. In 2018, the band was physically split when Dano moved to Prague. For a moment, it looked like Möbius might come to an end.
Despite the distance, we continued to perform, and it gradually became clear that our connection endured. Since 2020, after Michal moved to Prague, we began creating at full capacity once again, and Möbius continues forward without barriers.
For us, Möbius was never just a musical project. It is a lifelong friendship and something that transcends the music itself.
The process of creating the new album, Tensal, was natural, yet interrupted by events in both our personal lives and the world at large. Even though we lived in the same city, our meetings were often more about personal connection than the band itself. At times, the music receded, but the bond remained.
During this period, our side projects also emerged: Michal as Fokular (Narrative, Silent Spring, Existence) and Daniel as Penumbra Vortex (Phases). These worlds naturally intertwined with Möbius—for example, on the Existence recordings, where collaborative tracks were born, or Silent Spring, which was released on our label Analog Freaks.
These parallel paths eventually led us back to a shared language and to a new album.
Tensal: A Return to Essence
Tensal is a return to the core of Möbius: to the relationship.
“Tensal” is a word that does not exist. “Tensal” is a word we have given substance to. It names the tension and the pull between us while playing. A movement without beginning or end, a flow that constantly returns and continues.
For us, the album is a return to naturalness and simplicity, hidden beneath layers of daily life, responsibilities, and time. Through the connection of drum and guitar layers, we search for that which does not vanish, even as the form changes. Without words, we seek meaning in the process. Music is our natural way of communicating and releasing emotions.
Möbius is no longer just a part of our lives. It is their natural interconnection.
Tensal releases on May 1, 2026. Tensal is a spiral that never closes.
